Usability Testing & Research

Usability is vital to the success of a website. If users get confused or struggle to perform a task, your organisation could suffer from lost customers and poor brand image. At O'Kane Internet Consulting, we recognise the importance of usability and incorporate it into all our work. We are renowned for our work in low-vision accessibility and apply these principles universally, removing frustrations and ensuring that using your websites will be an enjoyable experience.

User-centric design

Whenever we design a website, we make sure usability is a focus from the very beginning. We usually begin by interviewing you and researching your business, in order to gain an understanding of what your needs are, what your customers needs are and how to satisfy each. In some cases, this research involves testing sessions with your target user groups to see how they behave. We use this information to build a plan for your website - a blueprint with built-in usability principles. This process is referred to as Information Architecture. Focusing on usability in the early design stages will save you money in the long run and produce a far more friendly website for your users

Accessiblity testing

Research shows that more than 5% of the over 40s audience has some form of vision impairment. Users with low vision struggle with poorly designed websites and will often walk away. With an ageing population and booming internet usage amongst older people, accessibility is set to become a major issue. By designing an accessible website, you will not only increase your potential audience, but you will create a more pleasant viewing experience for everyone, especially those who do not admit to having poor vision.

Allow us to review your website. For just $495 (ex GST) we will test your website with real users and prepare a report with key findings and recommendations for optimising usability, and therefore performance, of your website.

O'Kane Internet Consulting also specialises in performing low-vision accessibility testing and regularly run workshops for larger business wishing to improve the accessiblity of their websites.
