Our Projects
RSVP.com.au needed to improve its site usability and grow revenue

Australia's #1 Online Dating site, RSVP.com.au, was concerned they were missing out on up to 5.4% of the valuable over 40's demographic who have sight difficulties. So they asked us to recruit vision-impaired and blind people for usability testing sessions.
What was found from these sessions had far greater impact than just making the site more accessible to those with vision-impairments (as important as this is). Fairfax Digital found that the website problems revealed from the sessions were discouraging people from joining their service - and that this was having a direct impact on revenue generation. In other words - understanding how people use (or can't use!) your website makes both ethical and financial sense.
MissyConfidential.com.au needed more traffic and process automation
MissyConfidential.com.au is Australia's leading online womens fashion mailing list, reaching over 100,000 women twice a week with the best deals in fashion.
Maintaining such a busy website and newsletter all with manually coded HTML was distracting the team from increasing sales. After two other developers were unable to complete a purpose-built Content Management System, the owners turned to O'Kane Internet Consulting for a complete solution. We quickly picked up where the others had left off, and saw the job through to completion including complete testing and all bug fixes.

After undertaking a brand refresh during 2006, coordinate by OIC staff member Renee Rimington, a new website was also required. Renee was engaged as the Project Manager and oversaw strategic planning and selection of an appropriate Content Management System to meet the business needs. Her job was to manage the design and development of a new website that appealed to potential students from Australia and abroad, and to position the brand as desired. A number of workshops with users were undertaken to identify needs.
The website development process included videography to capture student testimonials and working with internal stakeholders and external providers to build the site and develop a unique pathway-finder application. www.insearch.edu.au
