HTML Creation Standards
At O'Kane Internet Consulting, we take our reputation seriously to deliver websites that are accessible to more than 99% of all users.
As part of this program, websites designed by us (from scratch) comply with the following two quality checks:
- Websites will validate to W3C Standards.
- Websites will not be designed using HTML Tables. That is to say, Tables will be used only to present tabular data.
Complying with W3C Standards
This is important as it gives a new website the greatest defence against new browsers and technologies. Further, W3C standard websites render faster, and are supported with less cost on a wider range of web browsers and devices.
You can test an individual URL by going to the W3C Markup Validation Service.
Using HTML Tables only for Tabular Data
To reduce the ongoing maintenance of websites we test all of our new sites to ensure that tables are only used for tabular data.
The method we follow for this test is to use Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, press F12 (to activate the Developer window), and select "Outline Tables and Table Cells".
